The corpses of three reputed Syrian rebels have been discovered in farmland in Khan Shaykhun, Idlib Governorate, Syria. The deceased may have been with the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham group, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, formerly known as al-Qaeda in Syria, or al-Qaeda in the Levant.
Jabhat Fateh al-Sham officially announced their separation from al-Qaeda in late July 2016, reports the BBC.
The group has been active in the Idlib Governorate and the subject of airstrikes. Russia and Turkey say the group is not included in a ceasefire deal in Syria.
However, it cannot be independently confirmed if the corpses shown are indeed of militants.
